DAC meeting sets fresh procurement pace
The Defence Acquisition Council met on September 7 under Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. It granted Acceptance of Necessity for proposals worth about 1.1 lakh crore rupees. The Ministry of Defence statement placed roughly 98 percent of that value with Indian vendors.
Proposals cover the three services. They focus on vehicles, helicopters, radars and propulsion systems. The move continues the shift toward domestic manufacturing that has accelerated in recent years.
